McCloud Nature Park hosts Monarch butterfly program

Tuesday, September 4, 2012

McCloud Nature Park is hosting a free program dedicated to the enticing Monarch butterfly on Saturday, Sept. 8 starting at 2 p.m. in the nature center. Registration is required for this all-ages program.

A McCloud Nature Park naturalist will teach visitors about the life cycle, habitat and migration patterns of this magnificent butterfly as well as the Monarch Watch Program.

The park's naturalist will then guide visitors on a visually exciting hike through the prairie to witness the different stages of the Monarch and learn about the interesting migration of the species that keeps them alive.

For more information on McCloud Nature Park and park programs call Hendricks County Parks & Recreation at (317) 718-6188 or visit the website at hendrickscountyparks.org.
