County Jail

On Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 12:55 p.m. Jeffery Allen Sweet, 46, Greencastle, was arrested for theft.

City Police

One arrest was reported by Greencastle City Police officers Wednesday.

-- At 2:25 p.m. Joseph Ferran, 31, Martinsville, was arrested at the Community Corrections office in the Putnam County Courthouse on a warrant.

Taken into custody by Officer Darrel Bunten, Ferran was lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department went on several runs recently.

* On Friday, Sept. 7 at 3:10 p.m. crews were dispatched to 1019 Indianapolis Rd. to assist with injuries and cleanup at a two-car accident. They returned at 3:33 p.m.

At 8:38 p.m. they were called to 301 E. Seminary St. for an alarm, disregarded in station, then called again at 8:45. Workers reset the alarm and returned to station at 9:04 p.m.

* On Saturday, Sept. 8 at 10:58 a.m. fire workers went to 904 S. College Ave. for an alarm, but were canceled en route at 11:07.

At 1:49 p.m. crews were dispatched to 534 Arlington St. for a medical assist. They were in station at 2:13 p.m.

At 2:13 p.m., workers went to 1000 Castlebury Drive to perform first aid and assist Operation Life after a person was injured from a fall. They were in service at 3:30 p.m.

At 3:55 p.m. fire workers went to 208 E. Olive St. for an alarm that they reset before returning to the station at 4:15 p.m.

At 9:09 p.m. they went to 904 S. College Ave. to resent an alarm, then returned at 9:22 p.m.

At 9:17 p.m. crews went to 181 Frazier St. to assist Operation Life. They were back at 9:46.

* On Sunday, Sept. 9 at 4:42 a.m. firefighters went to 1001 S. Fillmore Rd. to investigate a fuse box at a residence. They were back at the station at 5:23 a.m.

At 3:13 p.m. workers went to 1149 Avenue E for an unauthorized burn. They were in service at 3:28 p.m.

At 4:28 p.m. they went to 1216 Bloomington St. to assist Operation Life with a patient. They were in the station at 3:53 p.m.

At 7:12 p.m. crews went to 418 Anderson St. for an active alarm. They reset it and returned to the station at 7:27 p.m.

At 9:45 p.m. fire workers went to 207 N. Indiana St. for a medical assist. They were in service at 9:56 p.m.

* On Monday, Sept. 10 at 8:33 a.m. crews were sent to 7854 W. CR 1100 South to assist Reelsville with a two-vehicle auto accident where they provided first aid. They returned at 9:32 a.m.

At 10:06 a.m. they went to 1601 Hospital Drive for an alarm. They returned at 10:33 a.m.
