Donna Rice Mahoney

Donna Rice Mahoney, 69, of New Port Richey, Fla., formerly of Greencastle, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012.

Born in Beacon, N.Y., she was the daughter of Edward Rice and Myrtle Decker Turturro. She was a graduate of Wappingers Central High School.

She married John Harold Mahoney on St. Patrick's Day 1962, and he survives.

Donna worked at Tampa Bay Downs Race Track. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and Queen of The Sassy Lassies' of Country Place Chapter. She loved organizing functions and giving to Toys for Tots and Hospice Care.

While living in Greencastle Donna helped organize the Putnam County Girls Softball League and was co-owner of Hunter John's Pizza.

She is survived by her children John Mahoney and companion Sheila Gilmore of Keller, Texas, Tracie Harbaugh and husband Jack of Greencastle and Terri Collins and husband Kirk of Keller, Texas; and grandchildren Ashley Mattox, Kory and Michael Mahoney, Erika and Kody Collins and Dylan and Brent Harbaugh; and great-grandchildren Carly and Easton Mattox.

Per her request, cremation will take place with a memorial service to be held on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012 at the Country Place Village Club House, New Port Richey, Fla., from noon-3 p.m.
