County Jail

On Wednesday, Oct. 3 at 7:22 p.m. Herbert Hucks Jr., 42, Evansville, was booked into the Putnam County Jail for failure to appear and operating having never received a license.

Sheriff's Department

On Sunday, Sept. 30 at 5:07 p.m. Linda L. Spivey, 62, Poland, was traveling on Lafayette Street in Cloverdale in a 1998 Chevrolet Venture.

Spivey pulled over to get a soda pop lid that had fallen. She thought she had her vehicle in park, put did not.

Her vehicle rolled into a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox owned by Mark A. Tharp. The Tharp vehicle was properly parked next to the road, police said.

Damage was listed at $1,001-$2,500.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department has been dispatched several times recently.

* On Wednesday, Oct. 3 at 6:43 a.m. crews were sent to 1304 N. U.S. 231 but disregarded en route at 6:54 a.m.

At 7:43 a.m. firefighters went to 507 S. Locust for an alarm. They returned to station at 7:56 a.m.

At 5:55 p.m. they went to 2371 S. CR 250 East on a service call to inspect warm hay. With the issue resolved, they were in service at 6:26 p.m.

* On Thursday, Oct. 4 at 8 a.m. crews cleaned up debris from an auto accident at the corner of Jackson and Walnut streets. They returned to the station at 8:15 a.m.
