Thursday, October 18, 2012

On Tuesday, Nov. 6, Putnam County Hospital will be hosting prostate screens for the men of Putnam and surrounding counties.

The screen is an annual event that is sponsored by Putnam County Hospital Cancer Center.

"Early detection is the key," LPN Lou Fordice of the Cancer Center said.

"We offer screenings to encourage more men to take an interest in their health and to protect themselves from cancer," she continued.

The physician exam is at no charge. A $10 laboratory fee will be collected for the PSA blood test.

The screen will be conducted by appointment only. To schedule a screen, persons need to contact the Cancer Center at 655-2581.

The screens will take place from 8 a.m. to noon and 5-7 p.m. with Dr. Palanca and Dr. Downen in the Outpatient Specialty Clinic on the third floor of the hospital.
