* On Thursday, Oct. 11 at 3 p.m. Aaron B. Smith, 17, Coatesville, was eastbound on U.S. 36 in a 1999 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. Margaret A. Baker, 17, Coatesville, was also eastbound in a 1999 Saturn Ion.

Both vehicles were stopped, along with traffic in front of them.

As traffic started to move, Smith and Baker also started to forward. When traffic again stopped, Baker did not stop in time.

The grill and headlights of Barker's car hit the lower part of Smith's bumper.

* On Friday, Oct. 12 a Brazil man was cited for leaving the scene of an accident following a collision at county roads 725 South and 1025 East.

Henry Tillberry, 67, Indianapolis, was eastbound on County Road 725 South, turning north onto County Road 1025 East in a 1998 Chevrolet pickup. At that time, the vehicle was struck on the driver's side by a 1995 Chevrolet Camaro that Tillberry and other witnesses say was driven by Jasper R. Smith, 30, Brazil.

Smith's Camaro was traveling southbound at the time, sending the car off the northeast corner of the intersection, while Tillberry's truck came to rest facing southbound just south of the intersection.

There were no stop or yield signs for southbound or eastbound traffic posted at the time of the accident.

Prior to the arrival of deputies, Smith left the scene with another male in a black Pontiac Sunfire, leaving his female passenger, Kimberly K. Eads, 30, Brazil.

Eads, who suffered a bruised head in the collision, identified Smith as the driver.

Operation Life and the Jefferson Township Fire Department also responded to the accident.

Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.
