James Willard Cromwell

James Willard Cromwell, 92, Cloverdale, passed away on Friday, Oct. 26, 2012 in Cloverdale.

He was born on Oct. 23, 1920 in Putnam County and was the son of the late John Willard and Gail Marie (Reeves) Cromwell.

He was married to Jean (Hutsell) Cromwell on Dec. 31, 1947 and she survives.

He is also survived by his daughters, Sharon Kay Frye and husband Kenneth William of Loogootee and Joyce Marie Shillings of Cloverdale; grandchildren Donald Lee Schilling Jr., Kenneth William Frye Jr., John Willard Schilling and Carrie Marie Sims; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was a member of the Big Walnut Baptist Church and was a farmer and Paint Shop Forman at the Putnamville Correctional Facility. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Army.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Oct. 28 at 2 p.m. at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. Visitation will be held on Saturday, Oct. 27 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Cloverdale Cemetery with military honors.
