Dance Workshop to offer Zumba Gold

Dance Workshop licensed instructors Mary Birt and Martha Sanders just finished becoming licensed for Zumba Gold. This program is a a beneficial alternative for men and women of any age just getting started in a healthy lifestyle including fitness. It's a lower impact beginner level Zumba.

Zumba Gold can also be good for those with arthritis, fibromyalgia or similar ailments, including those who may be in wheelchairs.

Zumba Gold classes will be offered by both instructors at Dance Workshop beginning Nov. 7. Classes will be Wednesdays at 4:30p.m. and Saturdays at 9 a.m.

Dance Workshop also offers Zumbatomic classes with licensed instructors Penny Long and Lita Sandy.

Zumbatomic is for children aged 4-12. Also offered is Aqua Zumba with licensed instructor Tara Gardner.

All instructors are CPR/First Aid/AED.

On Nov. 18, Dance Workshop will host the "Get Your Pink On" Zumbathon event to benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer research.

The event will take place from 2-5 p.m. at the Dixie Chopper Business Center. The cost is $30 per person and will include a T-shirt if you prepay by Oct. 31. After that date, shirt will not be included but will be available for $15.

Sponsorships for the event are still available. A person or business can have their names on the back of the event's T-shirt for the cost of $50. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
