Richa Lou Ford, age 74, of Greencastle, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012 at the St. Vincent Heart Center.

Born April 23, 1938 in Ferndale, Ind., she was the daughter of Ira Richard and Cordia (Mitchell) Cox and was a 1956 graduate of Reelsville High School.

She married Raymond E. Ford on Jan. 27, 1989, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 18, 2000.

Richa Lou had been a homemaker. She had also worked at the American Red Cross and Sunset Manor in Greencastle.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Moose Lodge and the Eagles Lodge, Greencastle.

She had attended New Life Baptist Church.

Survivors include her children, Richard (Laurie) Douglas, Cheryl (Eddie) Gross, and Alan (Becky) Douglas, all of Greencastle; three sisters, Wanda (Danny) Wilson of Frankfort, Ardella Evans and Gloria (Floyd) Pelfrey, both of Greencastle; grandchildren Holly York-Smith (Josh), Christopher Douglas, Briana Bryant, Bobby Bryant, Britney Douglas, Ashley Douglas, Katie Douglas, and Josie Douglas; and great-grandchildren Aaron, Tyler, Devin and Alyxeiah.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ray; two sisters, Viola Langdon and Rosa Crooks; and a great-granddaughter, Maggie.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Rev. Nathan Couch officiating with interment to follow at Clinton Falls Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7 with a Women of the Moose memorial service at 7 p.m.
