McCloud to host free bird program on Nov. 24

On Saturday, Nov. 24 McCloud Nature Center will be having a program on how birds survive in the winter. Registration is required for the free event that is for ages eight and up. It will begin at 1 p.m. and end at 3 p.m.

The McCloud Park Naturalist will introduce the different types of feeders before helping children assemble their own bird feeder to take home.

The naturalist will also provide tips on identifying birds and attracting them to backyards.

Call Hendricks County Parks and Recreation at (317) 718-6188 to reserve a place for the program and don't forget to dress warmly.

McCloud Nature Park is operated by Hendricks County Parks and Recreation and is located five minutes south of North Salem at 8518 North Hughes Road.

Admission is always free and the park is open from dawn to dusk daily. The Nature Center's hours are Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
