MS Clovers split against Clay City

The eighth grade Cloverdale boys' basketball team beat Clay City 52-29 on Monday to move to 2-2.

Cooper Neese had 26 points in the win. Ryan Heavener (11), Kolton Cooper (six), Seth Phaff (five) Zack Nichols (two) and Aaron Fulkerson (two) also scored.

"Cloverdale played very good defense last night," coach Jerry Neese said.

The seventh grade team lost, 52-27.

Tyce Jackson led the team with 11 points, followed by Nick Winders (seven), T.J. Hagymasi (five), Josiah Watson (two), Steven Allen (one) and Drew Boyette (one).

"Turnovers killed us tonight," coach Bill Boyette said. "We just couldn't pass and catch the ball."

Cloverdale returns to action on Monday, Dec. 10 against Edgewood.
