Senior Citizens Day encore set for DePauw, Hiram men's basketball game Saturday

Monday, December 31, 2012

Senior Citizens Day returns to DePauw University's Lilly Center where the Tigers will take on Hiram College in men's North Coast Conference basketball action on Saturday, Jan. 5.

Admission for all family members will be free. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m.

The Lilly Center is located at 702 S. College Ave. with parking behind the Julian Science Center or behind the Peeler Art Center (both located along Hanna Street).

As with the initial Senior Citizens Day event on Dec. 19, door prizes will be awarded to lucky seniors over 60 whose names are drawn during halftime. But seniors must register as they enter to be eligible to win a door prize.

Prizes for the senior drawing are being provided by the staff/owners of Starbucks, Buzz Bomb Graphics, McDonald's, Walmart (at the Dec. 19 game) and Papa John's Pizza.

In conjunction with the Senior Citizens Day events, DePauw men's basketball players have been performing community service projects at the Putnam County Senior Center on the Square, under the guidance of director Sharon Pitcock, as well as elsewhere in Greencastle.
