BRAZIL -- A Bloomingdale man wanted by police who had been considered armed and dangerous was arrested in Brazil on Monday evening.

Indiana State Troopers from the Putnamville Post, along with officers of the Brazil Police Department, arrested Brian Keith Garrard, age 34, at 8:37 p.m.

He was wanted for criminal recklessness with serious bodily injury, a Class D felony, in Parke County, and for felony burglary in Douglas County, Ill.

Acting on a Wabash Valley Crime Stoppers tip called into the Indiana State Police, officers went to the home of Garrad's mother in Brazil to search for him.

Garrard was located hiding in a rear storage room of the residence and taken into custody without incident. He was incarcerated in the Clay County jail.

A family friend was at the home, but not Garrard's mother.

The case is closed and no further investigation is needed.

There is no bond on the Parke County warrant and $50,000 bond on the Illinois warrant.
