GHS JV girls rebound with win over Cougars
The Greencastle girls' junior varsity basketball team moved to 16-2 on the season with a win over North Putnam on Thursday, 35-21.
The game was a rematch of the Putnam County tournament final between the two teams, though the Tiger Cubs had a much more convincing win this time around.
Sydney Smiley scored a game-high16 points, including seven in the first quarter to help get GHS off to a fast start.
The Tiger Cubs jumped out to a 12-2 lead after the first quarter and, though the Cougars rallied to close the gap to three at the half, GHS had too many weapons and pulled away to a comfortable win.
Adri Millican led NPHS with seven points.
