Bainbridge Christian Church SOUP-er Bowl set for Sunday

Saturday, February 2, 2013

The Bainbridge Christian Church will be sponsoring its second-annual SOUP-er Bowl Sunday/Friends and Family Day at North Putnam Christian Church on Sunday.

Everyone are invited to attend.

The day will begin with breakfast pastries and fellowship at 9:30 a.m., followed by 10 a.m. worship service. The SOUP-er Bowl Sunday luncheon and soup contest will begin immediately following the service.

The gymnasium will also be open following service for kickball, basketball and dodgeball. Gym shoes, separate from your everyday sneakers, must be worn in the gymnasium.

The winner of the SOUP-er Bowl soup contest will receive the traveling trophy (made of soup cans, of course) and a plaque inscribed with his or her name. Anyone interested in participating in the competition may please bring their favorite soup recipe for everyone to taste and judge.

Tickets will be sold for use in casting votes for your favorite soup. Tickets are available at a rate of two for $1. You may vote as many times as you have tickets.

All proceeds from the ticket sales will benefit Hanging Rock Christian Camp (www.hangingrock.org) in West Lebanon, Ind., which provides opportunities for individuals, families, churches and communities to establish and strengthen their relationship with Christ.

  • Whoever is in charge of "The North Putnam Christian Church" needs to stop the nonsense. There is no such church nor does it have anything to do with North Putnam schools. If NP school is being used for a money making project by the church it should be stopped. This a touchy issue and is one which the school needs to take a stand on. Religion and churches are great and I believe, but school corporations need a policy on use of buildings for outside groups.
