County Jail

Two people were booked into the Putnam County Jail on Thursday, Jan. 31.

* At 11:45 a.m. Bobby Gene Forey-Standifer, 23, Poland, was arrested for theft.

* At 8:50 p.m. Jason Elaier Roman, 37, Indianapolis, was charged with two counts of nonsupport of a dependent and failure to appear.

Sheriff's Department

At 8:50 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 25 a two-car accident occurred at U.S. 231 and Stardust Road when a driver was unable to stop for a red light.

Ronald Cox, 73, Spencer, was southbound on U.S. 231 approaching the intersection in a 2000 Dodge Ram. The light turned red and he attempted to stop.

Meanwhile, Daniel Foster, 41, Cloverdale, was stopped on Stardust Road, waiting for the light to change in a 1998 Saturn SL. When the light turned green, he started into the intersection.

As Foster entered the intersection, his car was struck in the rear driver's side by Cox's pickup.

Dep. Donnie Pettit estimated damages at $1,001-$2,500.

City Police

One traffic citation was issued Thursday night by Greencastle City Police.

-- At 10:42 p.m., Debra Noriega, 53, Brazil, was cited on 10th Street by Capt. Chris Jones for driving with a suspended license.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to three recent dispatches.

* At 8:03 p.m. Thursday, GFD was dispatched to an alarm at Humbert Hall, 208 E. Olive St. Crews cleared the scene at 8:15 p.m.

At 10:23 p.m. firefighters responded to an alarm at 508 Jackson St., returning to station at 10:34 p.m.

* At 9:07 a.m. responders were dispatched to assist Operation Life at 736 E. Washington St. They were disregarded at 9:09 a.m.
