County Jail

At 7:43 p.m. on Thursday, Christopher Johnson, 35, Poland, was booked into the Putnam County Jail for contempt of court and failure to appear.

At 4:58 a.m. on Friday, Jarrod Lee Bowman, 35, Cloverdale, was arrested for operating while intoxicated with a prior conviction.

City Police

Two speeding citations were issued recently by Greencastle City Police officers.

-- At 6:56 a.m. Friday, Jason Barger, 32, Greencastle, was ticketed on Shadowlawn Avenue by Capt. Mike Hanlon for 45 mph in a 30-mph zone.

-- At 11:22 p.m. Thursday, Louisa Sheffield, 19, Indianapolis, was cited by Officer Nick Eastham for 53 mph in a 30-mph zone on Bloomington Street, south of Martinsville Street.

City Fire

At 5:34 p.m. on Thursday, the Greencastle Fire Department was dispatched to a fire alarm at DePauw University's Humbert Hall, 208 E. Olive St.

Crews returned to station at 5:46 p.m.
