Mark A. Pickel, 90, of Boynton Beach, Fla., for the past 14 years, formerly of Crete, Ill., passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2013 in Boynton Beach.

He was born June 17, 1922 in Roachdale.

In 1949 Mr. Pickel graduated from Purdue University.

He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.

During Mr. Pickel's working years he was a livestock auctioneer.

He was a member of the American Legion and the Purdue University Alumni Association.

Beloved husband of Joyce Kiley for 30 years, loving father of Frank (Nancy) Pickel, Carolyn (Jesse) Pickel, Nancy Pickel, Jean (John) Heise, Catherine (Nick) Sterns-Wilson, Maureen (Jeff) Nichols and Ted McDonald. He was the cherished grandfather of Andrea, Monica, Chantal, Chris, Kiley, Lindsey, Jay, Brandon, Austin, Summer, Alex and Griffin and great-grandfather of 11.

He was a devoted brother of Max (Lela) Pickel and brother-in-law of Carol Kiley and well liked by many close personal friends.

Chapel services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14 at Rubin Memorial Chapel, 7340 Boynton Beach Blvd., Boynton Beach, FL 33437.
