Boetjer makes college debut

Indiana University freshman -- and former South Putnam standout -- Brooke Boetjer made her collegiate debut this weekend.

Boetjer, the 2012 Miss Softball in Indiana, made a relief appearance as a pitcher for the Hoosiers against Arizona State on Friday, striking out three batters and allowing three earned runs in 3.1 innings.

The Hoosiers lost to the No. 4 Sun Devils 8-0.

Boetjer made two other appearances over the weekend, including one start, and now has a 9.00 ERA, four strikeouts and a .432 batting average against.
