Tiger women move to 4th, set records

CANTON, Ohio -- The DePauw University women's swimming and diving team wrapped up the first full day of competition at the North Coast Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships in fourth place with 230 points.

Kenyon leads with 498, followed by Denison with 494 and Wittenberg with 234.

The Tigers' 200-yard free relay of Caroline Bridges, Courtney Lehmann, Nicole Rossillo and Erin Horne turned in a third-place showing in an NCAA "B" time of 1:36.23 after posting a school-record 1:35.86 in the prelims.

Emily Weber finished seventh in the 500 free in a "B" time of 5:03.03 which broke the school record of 5:03.25 which she set in the morning prelims. Dana Zerbini finished 11th in 5:11.31.

Rossillo placed seventh in the 200 individual medley in 2:10.18 following a 2:09.23 prelim time with Allison Kirby finishing 11th in 2:10.88. Bridges was eighth in the 50 free in 24.19 seconds.

The Tigers' 400 medley relay was disqualified in the finals after posting the fifth-best prelim time.

Competition continues Friday morning at the C.T. Branin Natatorium.
