March 9 dinner theater, silent auction event supports SWCD

Tuesday, February 19, 2013
The cast of "A Town With No Dame" to be staged March 9 in support of the Putnam County Soil & Water Conservation District at the fairgrounds includes Eric Wilburn as Ostrich Oz, the Sheriff; Christopher Hansen as Chuck Muckduck, the barkeep; TJ Tincher as Wiley K. Otie, the villain; and Rachelle M. Wilburn as Savannah Rose, the new (only) girl in town.

The Soil and Water Conservation District of Putnam County will hold its second annual dinner theater and silent auction fundraising event on Saturday, March 9.

The SWCD will be presenting an original western comedy dinner theater titled, "A Town With No Dame," written and presented by Drive By Comedy.

The story of "A Town With No Dame" is just that -- all the women left years ago. Three wacky dudes have stayed behind in the hopes that some day the woman of their dreams will walk back in to the Muckduck Saloon.

This year's fund-raiser will be staged at the Community Building on the Putnam County Fairgrounds. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the evening will commence at 6 p.m.

The evening's entertainment will also include a silent auction, including such items as four-day/three-night Blue Green Resort package in Gatlinburg, a handmade throw quilt, a pair of boots from Burdge's Boots, four Indianapolis Ice hockey tickets, a guitar from Greencastle Music Center, western-themed items, dinners and more.

Last year's event raised more than $2,000 for educational outreach programs in Putnam County. This year's goal is to double that amount so that the SWCD can expand and enrich its outreach programs.

Tickets for the dinner and show are on sale now through March 5.

Tickets for the show only will still be available starting March 6. All tickets are $20 each or $150 for a table of eight.

Tickets are available through the SWCD of Putnam County office at 1007 Mill Pond Lane, Suite C, Greencastle.

Persons may also call 653-7454, Ext. 135 to order tickets. Payments can be made by personal check or cash.
