Frank V. Knoll, 85, of Indianapolis and formerly of Greencastle, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013.

He was born on Nov. 30, 1927 in Madison, Ind., to Frank V. Knoll and Mildred E. Still Knoll.

Frank retired from Allison Gas Turbine Division of General Motors where he was a production general foreman.

He was a member of the VFW Post 1550, American Legion Post 58, Capital City Conservation Club, and a life member of the Moose Lodge and had attained the Pilgrim Degree of Merit.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Kathy Knoll; stepbrother, Ron Padgett, and his first wife, Marilyn L. Knoll.

Surviving is his wife of 25 years, Erma; his children, Donna Pickard of Franklin, Frank V. Knoll Jr. and wife Debra of Indianapolis, Charles Knoll and wife Ann Marie of Indianapolis, David Knoll of Gulfport, Fla., and Kathy Ogawa and husband Derrick of Avon; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27 at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Pastor Dave Clayton officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Brick Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Feb. 26 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home, with a Moose service at 7 p.m.

The family will also receive friends on Wednesday from 1 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
