City Police

One two-vehicle accident was investigated recently by Greencastle City Police officers.

The mishap occurred at 10:54 a.m. Thursday at Washington and Vine streets in downtown Greencastle.

Sgt. Terry Eastham reported that Ashley Karish, 29, Greencastle, was attempting to pull across East Washington Street in 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer.

Her view of Washington Street was partially obstructed by parked vehicles, Eastham said, and Karish pulled in the path of a 1997 GMC pickup, driven by Rusty Keck, 27, Greencastle. Keck was unable to stop his truck to avoid a collision.

Total damage was estimated at $2,500-$5,000.

Three recent traffic citations were issued by city officers.

-- At 5:19 a.m. Thursday, Floyd Baylor, 25, Terre Haute, was issued a pair of citations by Officer Nick Eastham. Baylor was ticketed for 50 mph in a 30-mph zone on Bloomington Street, south of Martinsville Street. He was also cited for driving with a suspended license with a prior offense.

-- At 3:55 a.m. Thursday, Jessica Orick, 30, Greencastle, was stopped by Officer Matt Huffman at State Road 240 and Zinc Mill Road and cited for an infraction of driving with a suspended license.
