Max H. Parker, 83, of Roachdale, passed away at his residence Sunday evening, Feb. 24, 2013.

He was born on Feb. 21, 1930 at North Salem to Charles J. and Gertrude E. Miller Parker.

Max worked as a truck driver for IRC & D Motor Freight from 1954 to 1982, when he retired.

He was a past master of Roachdale Masonic Lodge 602.

He married Shirley E. Garr on April 4, 1949 at Indianapolis, and she survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Kevin (Connie) Parker of Roachdale, and Steven (Jewel) Parker of Nashville, Tenn.; two daughters, Lori Cating of Ladoga, and Cathy (James) Cromwell of Roachdale; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lena Loper of Seymour.

Two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.

According to his wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no services or visitation.

Services and Morgan Funeral Home at Roachdale is assisting the family with the arrangements.
