Velda S. May Goad

Velda S. May Goad, age 55 of Plainfield, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 9, 2013 in her residence.

She was born on May 14, 1957 in Martinsville to Charles M. and Alice I. Stacey Scroughams.

She attended the Plainfield Christian Church.

She was a heavy equipment operator engineer for Local Union 841. Velda was also a talented seamstress.

Survivors include her father, Charles Scroughams; brothers Joe and Michael Scroughams; and sister Sharlotte Chapman.

Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, March 15 in Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, with Rev. Steve White officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery Plainfield.

Calling hours will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, March 14 in the funeral home.
