Recent donations help make splash for Civic League effort
The Greencastle Civic League's Splash Park Project is one step closer to being built, thanks to the recent donation of $5,000 from the Teachers Credit Union.
The Civic League estimates it will take approximately $300,000 to build the Splash Park, which will be located on the northeast side of the Greencastle Aquatic Center. Construction is not expected until 2014.
To date the Civic League has received grants from several organizations totaling more than $37,000. In addition to Teachers Credit Union they include the Putnam County Community Foundation, PNC Foundation, United Way of Putnam County, Greencastle Walmart Supercenter and Parke County REMC.
Additionally, the Greencastle Civic League has received nearly $40,000 from the community through its Leadership Donor Campaign.
Leadership Donors will be recognized permanently at the Splash Park site at the Platinum level (a gift of $2,000 or more), the Gold level (a gift of $1,000-$1,999) and the Silver level ($500-$999).
