GHS track has strong showing at Indoor finals

Both the boys' and girls' indoor track and field teams from Greencastle High School had a strong performance from individuals and relays in the Indoor State Finals at Indiana Wesleyan University on Saturday.

The girls had two relays and two individuals finish with strong performances.

Kat King finished in ninth place in the 55-meter dash (7.52 seconds) and Jessica Lenihan finished eighth in the shot put (35'10").

In relays the 4x800 team of Kayla Cash, Brittany Love, Alex Stoffregen and Colleen Weatherford finished 8th (10:30.48) and the disance medley relay team of Cash, Stoffregen, Love and Weatherford placed sixth (13:30.06).

In the boys' relays, Elijah Brattain, Jacob Kessler, Isaac Harms and Tyler Hudson finished 19th in the 4x800 (9:02.11) and Brattain, Sedrick Weinschenck, Jacob Lewis and Hudson finished 19th in the distance medley relay (11:48.83).

To qualify for the finals, runners had to make the top-24 cut, as determined by races throughout the indoor season.
