Marjorie Jean Scobee, 88, of Greencastle, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2013.

She was born on Dec. 7, 1924 in Floyd Township to Claude and Laurel Morris Etcheson

Jean was a 1943 graduate of Bainbridge High School, an avid bridge player and was an accomplished organist.

She shared her musical talents at Bainbridge Christian Church, Somerset Christian Church and Clinton Falls Community Church. Jean brought the comfort of music to many families over the years while playing the organ for funeral services.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a great-granddaughter, Caitlin Coffman; a brother, Wally Etcheson; and a son-in-law, Willis W. "Willie" Roberts.

Surviving are her husband of 70 years, Willard Scobee; two daughters, Bonnie Roberts of Greencastle and Sally Coffman and husband Earl of Bainbridge; a sister, Rakie Hueber and husband Bill of Pittsboro; sister-in-law, Marian Etcheson of El Paso, Ill.; a grandson, Christopher Coffman and wife Becky of Westfield; and three great-grandsons, Brady, Benny and Beau.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 23 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, with Rev. Ron Branson officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
