Congratulations to DePauw women's team

To the Editor:

I am writing to express my extreme admiration for the DePauw women's basketball program. Their accomplishments this season were extraordinary.

I'm not just talking about the skill of the athletes, their physical toughness, and their mental toughness all of which are immense. I'm talking about the whole program. I'm talking about the fact that the players are also conscientious students and great DePauw citizens and great role models.

I'm talking about the team's support for the local Humane Society and the clinics they put on for little kids and those sorts of things. This program is the epitome of what a Division III athletic program should be. If you were trying to find the ideal Division III athletic program to emulate, DePauw's women's basketball program would be the place to look.

And, of course, the person who gets the credit for putting together such a great program is the coach, Kris Huffman. For her my admiration knows no bounds.
