Ready to Roll

Friday, March 22, 2013

Two older homes positioned along the west side of South Jackson Street are jacked up and ready to roll to their new Greencastle homes on Monday, March 25. In order to move the houses across South Jackson Street, however, the roadway will be closed to traffic on Monday from 8 a.m. until noon. Once the houses have been moved across South Jackson by Joe Spiker Excavating and Construction, Greencastle, and MCF House Movers, Washington, they will be staged in the nearby DePauw University parking lot, awaiting the opportunity to continue to their final destination on Tuesday. DePauw is having the two houses moved to lots just south of the Media Center on the east side of South Locust Street.

  • I think that's 4 maybe 5 houses moved since I came here in 1993. That's a lot for a small town like Greencastle. I love those old houses.
