Eggstock after-dark hunts set for Friday night at Robe-Ann Park
The fifth annual Eggstock fundraiser for Cystic Fibrosis is set for Friday night, March 29 at Robe-Ann Park in Greencastle.
Registration begins at 9 p.m. at shelterhouse No. 1 (atop the hill above the bandshell) with the after-dark hunting starting at 10 p.m. The fee is $10 per person.
Two separate hunts are scheduled for Eggstock this year since the annual Friends of the Park Eggfest is not being held due to spring break.
Eggstock will again feature an adult hunt and will add a teen hunt (ages 12-18) this year.
Egg hunters are reminded to bring a flashlight since the event is staged after dark.
Proceeds will be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to help fight the genetic disorder that attacks the lungs and digestive system.
Prizes include cash prizes, gift certificates, gift cards, T-shirts, keychains, haircuts, pizza, water park passes and more.
Donors include McDonald's, Wendy's, Long John's, Wal-Mart, Mason's Fine Jewelry, Muffler Connection, Case Grande, Eli's Books, Starbucks, Almost Home, CFF Pharmacy, Speedway, Greencastle Parks and Recreation, Indianapolis Indians Baseball tickets, Kings Island tickets, Children's Museum tickets and Indianapolis Zoo tickets.
"The Cooper family would like to thank all sponsors," organizer Athena Cooper said. "We couldn't host this event without the support of our community. Thank you."
