Oh, What a Day

Thursday, March 28, 2013
Excitement was in the air at the Putnam County Library as children showed up to join in on the fun of celebrating the beloved Dr. Seuss on Thursday. The event was held in honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month, which has included several special events that focus on strengthening families. The public was invited to watch 'The Lorax,' play games and even create their very own Cat in the Hat, hat. The Cat in the Hat (Abbie Harms) greeted guests Alexandra Roberts (top) and her father Michael to the event. Meanwhile, Andy Wright (bottom, left) helped his daughter Raegan Wright open several of her Easter eggs, which were won during the library's very own egg hunt. Also getting in on the fun were Latha and Nevaeh Tippin who tested their Dr. Seuss trivia skills with volunteer Mary Xiao. The program was sponosred by C.A.R.S. Headstart, Healthy Families and the Greencastle Parks and Recreation Department.
