Annual Chamber golf scramble set for May 10

The 23rd annual Greater Greencastle Chamber of Commerce golf scramble is set for Friday, May 10 at Clover Meadows Golf Course.

Registration will begin at 10:30 a.m. Lunch, sponsored by Comcast Business Class, will be served at 11 a.m., and the shotgun start will follow at noon.

The cost for the day, which includes 18 holes of golf, a cart and lunch, is $55 per player.

Team reservations can be made by calling 653-4517 or you can mail your registration form to 16 S. Jackson St. by May 4. Only four person teams will be allowed.

Each golfer will be given a gift bag courtesy of Cunningham Insurance. North Salem State Bank and HMSB Insurance are providing each golfer a chance to win $10,000 if they can hit a hole-in-one.

Throughout the day beverages will be provided by Dever Distributing, Bittles & Hurt and Hopkins-Rector Funeral Homes and Starbucks. Snacks will be provided by Ivy Tech Community College.

Immediately following the Scramble the Chamber's fourth annual Golf Ball Drop will take place. This year's Golf Ball Drop is being sponsored by At Home Realty LLC, Bret Hurley Construction and PNC Bank. To add even more excitement to the drop, the balls will be dropped from a helicopter this year.

Balls are being sold now until the scramble tees off. Participants may purchase two for $5 or five for $10. Half the proceeds will go to the owner of the ball that is first in the hole or closest to the hole.

Ball drop participants don't have to be participating in the scramble or be present to win. They just have to purchase the golf balls. To do so, call or stop by the Chamber office or order through your golf scramble registration form.

Following the Golf Ball Drop the 19th Hole Business after Hours will take place from 5-7 p.m. and is being sponsored by First National Bank and York Automotive. All Chamber members are invited to attend.

Awards provided by Taylor Made Awards & Promotions will be presented to the top three scramble teams at the After Hours.

Hole sponsorships ($100 if sign is needed, $50 if they Chamber already have a sign for the business), scoreboard sponsorships ($100), and skilled hole sponsorships ($35) are available to Chamber members.
