Greenhouse to open soon in Cloverdale

Saturday, April 13, 2013

The Cloverdale FFA Greenhouse will be opening for the season on Saturday, April 20 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Each year the landscape and horticulture classes order, plant, germinate and market flowers and vegetables that they will offer for sale to the public.

Most of the plants offered are annual bedding plants such as geraniums, wavy petunias, petunias, marigolds, impatiens, dahlias and many more.

A variety of vegetables such as tomatoes, peppers, cabbage and more will also be offered. This year there will be a limited number of patio tomatoes and patio cucumbers.

In addition the Cloverdale FFA Greenhouse will have many beautiful hanging baskets and planters.

It is asked that the community help support these class projects and the Cloverdale FFA chapter by purchasing some of your plants needed for this year from the Cloverdale FFA.

After April 20 the greenhouse will be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-4:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. until plants are gone.

Bedding plants and vegetables in four-packs are priced at $1.75 per pack or mix and match a tray of eight packs for $12 a flat. Geraniums in five-inch pots are priced at $2.25 each or mix and match 10 for $20. Most baskets are priced at $14, depending on size.

The greenhouse is located on the south side of the high school. For further questions persons may contact Tiffany Douglass or Chelsey Meluch at 795-4203.
