Knoy Center Obtains Grant Funding

Monday, April 15, 2013

During the April meeting of the Cloverdale School Board, an award in the form of a $175,000 check was presented to Superintendent Carrie Milner, on behalf of Cloverdale Community School Corporation. The check is representative of first-year funding from the 21st Century Community Learning Centers Program's latest round of grant initiatives, which received more than 250 applicants statewide with programs for which they sought to expand and/or enhance program services. The proposal submitted by the Cloverdale Community School Corporation along with the Knoy Elementary and Middle Schools Resource Centers will now include an after-school program to be initiated at Eminence Junior-Senior High School, serving grades 6-8 and Patricksburg Elementary School, serving grades K-5. Additional details about specific site operations will be available soon. Several Knoy Elementary and Middle School students that celebrated the increase in funding were (front, left) Caleb Walker, Jessica Demaree, Eli Kelley, Kaitlen Kerr, Alex Vargas (back, left), Samantha Fox, Alex McCracken, Keeley Hughes and Katie Freund.
