Stormy weather postpones park's fishing class at Jaycee Park
The recent rainy weather and a forecast for more have resulted in the postponement of two Greencastle Park and Recreation-sponsored events.
With a stormy prediction for Saturday, the park's Gone Fishin' class at Jaycee Park has been postponed.
"We want the youth to have the best experience possible," Assistant Director Troy Scott explained, "and feel the conditions Saturday outdoors will not be the ideal situation."
The Park Department is looking at dates in June for another fishing class, Scott said.
For the safety and enjoyment of the players, park officials also decided to cancel the Disc Golf Tournament that had been scheduled for Thursday night at Big Walnut Sports Park.
"The weather is not going to be great, and the area is already saturated from recent rains," Scott said.
"We want this to be a positive experience, and feel postponing or canceling the event is in the best interest."
