Putnam Realtors' bingo event helps fund local scholarships
To the Editor:
On behalf of the Putnam County Board of Realtors, I would like to thank everyone that attended our Second Annual Spring Bingo.
Once again this event was a great success, with over $1,000 in cash prizes given away on Saturday, April 13 at the Putnam County Fairgrounds.
I would especially like to thank our sponsors for this year's event: Abstract and Title, American Realty LLC, At Home Realty LLC, Coldwell Banker Putnam Real Estate Center, Collins Evans Real Estate, Endeavor Communication, Farm Credit of Mid America, First National Bank, My Gilley, Angie Long, North Salem State Bank, Royal Title Service, F.C. Tucker Schneider Realty, Cindy Schrader, Heather Taylor State Farm Insurance and Wood & Associates Real Estate.
With the success of this event, we will be adding $1,500 to our Scholarship Fund, growing our endowment to provide for future scholarships. In May the board will be awarding $2,000 in scholarships to four Putnam County high school seniors. These scholarship awards are made possible through our endowment with the Putnam County Community Foundation.
We plan to continue this event twice a year, to provide a fun, smoke-free event to the public, while promoting giving back to the community. Our next bingo event will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 6 p.m. at the Putnam County Fairgrounds.
This event would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of James Knoebel, PCBR president and bingo chairman, as well as those realtor members that came to work that night --Teresa Adams, Jeff Rich, George and Suzy Schneider, Chris and Michelle Skillern, Cindy Schrader, Cecil VanArsdale and Debi White.
Thank you for making these scholarships to Putnam County high school seniors possible. Any Putnam County high school seniors wanting to apply for a scholarship should contact the Putnam County Community Foundation.
