Irvin B. Wallace
Irvin B. Wallace, age 89, of Coatesville, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2013.
Born April 4, 1924 in Putnam County, he was the son of Everett and Hazel (Branneman) Wallace.
A 1942 graduate of Cloverdale High School, he had attended Purdue University and Pittsburg Engineering Institute.
He married Wilma (Arnold) Wallace on Aug. 14, 1949, and she survives.
He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army.
Irvin was a lifelong farmer and had served as a past director of the Farm Bureau.
He was a member of the Avon Heights Church of Christ and an avid golfer and card player.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma; son David (Vicki) Wallace of Springboro, Ohio; daughters Vicki (Ted) Brewer of Lafayette and Lea Anne (Jon) Babcock of Danville; nine grandchildren, Brad Brewer, Laura Coles, Angie Ferguson, Jeremy Wallace, Amy Wallace, Bret Wallace, Lindsay Wallace, Brian Babcock and Chelsea Flores; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons Gary and Donald Wallace; two sisters, Daphne Wood and Helen Ryland; and a great-granddaughter, Kayla Brewer.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 27 at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Boyd Sellers officiating. Interment with military rites will follow at Bainbridge Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Friday, April 26 at the funeral home.
