Gobin Church to participate in Summer Foods Service Program

Thursday, April 25, 2013

Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church recently announced its plans to participate in the Summer Foods Service Program during the church's Summer Enrichment program.

Free meals will be made available to all children who are enrolled in a state-approved educational program for the mentally or physically disabled. Free meals are made available to all eligible participants.

The participant eligibility to receive free meals is determined based on if a child meets the income guidelines for reduced-price meals in the National School Lunch Program.

A child who is part of a household that receives Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits or benefits under the Food Distribution Program on Indiana Reservation (FDPIR) or Temporary Assistance for Needy Families is automatically eligible for free meals.

Free meals will be provided beginning May 30 and ending July 3 at Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church located at 307 Simpson St. in Greencastle.

Breakfast will be served from 8:30-9 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
