Blood drive slated for Tuesday at Mill Pond Health Campus

Saturday, April 27, 2013

Mill Pond Health Campus will be hosting a blood drive on Tuesday, April 30 from 3-5 p.m.

Most people are eligible to donate. There are very few causes for deferral and very few medications that are not acceptable.

Donors cannot be taking antibiotics for infection. Cancer patients must be one-year cancer free and heart patients must be six-months symptom free. Those who are diabetic are also able to donate.

It is recommended that donors have a light snack before donating. Interested participants should bring a picture ID and are strongly encouraged to not fast before donation. Free juice and cookies will be available.

The entire process will take less than an hour. A cholesterol, blood pressure, blood type and iron check are included in your donation.

For more information or those not sure if they are eligible to donate contact Steve Dieringer at eligibility@indianablood.org.
