James F. Perry, 77, of Rockville, died at 3:15 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2013 in Union Hospital at Terre Haute.

He retired from the Greencastle Fire Department with 20 years of service and worked as a carpenter many years.

He was born March 11, 1936 in Chrisman, Ill., to the late James Lee Perry and Laura Frances Crooks Perry.

His first wife, Roberta Elmore Perry, whom he married April 17, 1955 in Rockville, died April 6, 2009.

Survivors include his wife, Carole Simonds Rowe Perry, whom he married Sept. 25, 2010 in Mansfield; two sons, James R. "Rusty" (Janet) Perry of Perrysburg, Ohio, and Robert Lee "Lee Bob" (Linda) Perry of Sibley, Iowa; two stepdaughters, Diane (Daniel) Holcomb of Rockville, and Jill (Joe) Penman of Carmel; a brother, Harry A. "Hap" Perry of Grand Junction, Colo.; two sisters, Lauralee Baugh of Greencastle, and Marilou Wood of Hendersonville, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, William F. Perry, and a brother-in-law, James E. Baugh.

He was a 1954 graduate of Rockville High School.

He was a member of the Rockville First United Methodist Church, American Legion Fellenzer Post 48, Rockville, Past Master of Parke Masonic Lodge 8, Rockville, Temple Lodge 47 Greencastle, Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute, Zorah Shrine of Terre Haute, Parke County Shrine Club, Greencastle Order of the Eastern Star chapter 255 and the Rockville Elks Lodge 2471.

A Masonic memorial service followed by funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 1 in Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard St., Rockville.

Burial will follow in Mount Moriah Cemetery, north of Hollandsburg.

Visitation is set for 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Gooch Funeral Home.
