Owner-occupied home rehab dues for second round locally

Monday, April 29, 2013

The City of Greencastle is requesting grant funding for a second round of owner-occupied home rehabilitation and would like to invite homeowners to attend a meeting to learn more about the program on Wednesday, May 1 at 5 p.m.

The meeting will take place at Greencastle City Hall, 1 N. Locust St.

The purpose of the meeting is to inform interested homeowners who live in the targeted Stellar Grant area on how to apply for grant funds to make improvements for their home.

A few examples are improvements for energy efficiency, handicap-accessible alterations, new roof, new windows and lead-based paint issues.

Homeowners must meet HUD income guidelines. These guidelines will be distributed at the meeting. Homeowners must live in the home to qualify. Rental property is not eligible.

All information and forms will be available at the meeting. Homeowners should attend the meeting to receive complete information.

Star Development is the grant administrator for this program for the City of Greencastle, and will be available for any questions regarding grant requirements and completion of forms.

For persons unable to attend the meeting, forms will be available at City Hall beginning Thursday, May 2.

Questions should be directed to Joyce McCarty at 765-478-6512 or City Hall at 848-1515.
