Eagles split dual meet with Rox
South Putnam's track and field squad, originally scheduled for a three-way meet on Monday, competed solely against Rockville Monday night.
The Eagles split the meet with the boys' squad winning 74-57 while the girls' squad was edged out by the Rox 62-60.
Klayton Vittetow picked up two wins for the Eagles in the 110-meter hurdles and high jump.
Other Eagles to win races were Berndt Freeman in the 1600-meter run, Matt Lund in the 800-meter run and Matt Allen in the 3200-meter run, as well as the 4x400-meter relay squad.
In the field events, Ryan Chestnut won the shot put, Joey Masters won the discus and Trent Workman won the pole vault.
For the girls' squad, Ariel Higgins took first in the 100- and 300-meter hurdles while Deborah Cheatham picked up a win in the high jump.
Other race winners for South Putnam included Michaela Scales in the 1600-meter run, Hannah Jones in the 3200-meter run, along with the 4x400 and 4x800-meter relay teams.
