* At 10:19 a.m. on Wednesday, April 24, a driver tried to make a left turn from the right lane on U.S. 40 and caused a collision.

Clenneth E. Besing, 77, Elberfeld, Ind., was eastbound at County Road 625 North in a 2004 Chevrolet Venture trying to locate the Washington Townships Fire Department. His GPS directed him to turn north (left), so he attempted to do so from the driving lane.

He did not see the 2009 Chevrolet Silverado in the passing lane, striking the right rear of the truck. Christopher Clodfelter, 26, Brazil, the driver of the truck, told Sgt. Jon Chadd he saw Besing start to turn and tried to avoid the crash but could not.

Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,00.

* At 4:46 p.m. Wednesday, David A. Priest, 25, Roachdale, was eastbound on County Road 475 East in a 2011 Ford Ranger. He momentarily took his eyes off the road, which caused him to leave the roadway on the south side and strike two road signs.

* At 8:55 p.m. on Saturday, Summer D. O'Conner, 18, Greencastle, was backing her 1999 Honda Accord in the lot at the Putnam County Fairgrounds Community Building.

At 4:25 a.m. Joshua R. Garrison, 27, Hartford City, was westbound in a 2003 Peterbilt 386 semi tractor when he ran onto the shoulder of the roadway.

Garrison swerved to get back on the road, but his trailer wheels were too far off the shoulder and into the ditch.

The tractor-trailer rolled onto the passenger side, striking a utility pole and coming to rest in the middle of the road, blocking both lanes of traffic.

Garrison suffered no injuries.

Curtis Towing was called to move the vehicle. Also assisting were INDOT, the Fillmore Fire Department and Duke Energy.

Damage was estimated at $50,001-$100,000.
