County Jail

At 5:44 p.m. Wednesday, Sarah DeeAnn Kimbler, 26, Coatesville, was booked into the Putnam County Jail for possession of methamphetamine, possession of a syringe and probation violation.

Sheriff's Department

* Two people were injured in a Saturday afternoon crash on Manhattan Road when the hood flew off a vehicle being towed.

At 12:17 p.m. Trecia J. Smith, 43, Reelsville, was northbound in a 2002 GMC Envoy, following the 1999 Dodge Ram wrecker driven by Thomas J. Vanatti, 48, Brazil.

The hood flew off the towed vehicle, and Smith turned left to avoid the debris, causing her to leave the roadway.

She re-entered the road and stopped behind Vanatti's wrecker.

Smith complained of right foot pain, while her passenger, Penny J. Wood, complained of lower back pain. Both refused medical attention and were going to drive themselves to the hospital.

Deputy Adam Hull estimated damage at $2,501-$5,000.

* At 5:33 p.m. Saturday, Brandi L. Brown, 27, Reelsville, was northbound on County Road 800 West in a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

She told Capt. Danny Wallace she was left of center and hit the 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven southbound by Judy D. Shrum, 69, Greencastle.

No injuries were reported.

Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.

City Police

One warrant arrest was reported Thursday by Greencastle City Police officers.

-- At 12:50 a.m. Thursday, Vivian V. Tincher, 33, Greencastle, was arrested by Sgt. Charles Inman.

She was arrested on a Putnam County to revoke probation and a Clay County warrant to revoke probation on the original charge of theft, a Class D felony.

Tincher was lodged in the Putnam County Jail following her arrest on East Walnut Street.

Two Thursday morning traffic citations were issued by Officer Nick Eastham.

At 5:18 a.m., Officer Eastham ticketed Jacob J. Steinmetz, 19, Greencastle, for 49 mph in a 30-mph zone on Bloomington Street, south of Martinsville Street.

At 2:40 a.m. Thursday, Eastham cited Amanda Murphy, 27, Cloverdale, on Bloomington Street for an infraction of driving with a suspended license. She was stopped initially for having a headlight out.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department has responded to a number of recent dispatches.

* At 11:54 a.m. Tuesday GFD investigated a detector activation at 1011 Barrington Dr. Personnel found the detector to be malfunctioning. They returned to station at 12:16 p.m.

At 2:11 p.m. crews performed a medical assist at 102 W. Poplar St., returning to station at 2:50 p.m.

At 5:41 p.m. firefighters investigated an alarm at 409 S. Jackson St., finding the problem to be mechanical. They cleared the scene at 5:52 p.m.

* At 5:02 p.m. Wednesday, GFD assisted Bainbridge with a house fire at 3020 U.S. 231 North. They cleared the scene at 6:52 p.m.

* At 6:47 a.m. Thursday, firefighters were called to an alarm at 109 S. Vine St., but were disregarded at 6:50 a.m.
