Patricia Ann Gauly, 64, of Greencastle, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2013 peacefully in her sleep.

Pat was born in Rochester, N.Y., May 31, 1948, and was a longtime resident of Greencastle, most recently having made a new home in Naples, Fla.

She was the beloved wife of Steve Gauly, whom she married Aug. 11, 1973.

Recently retired, Pat enjoyed traveling with her husband and spending quiet afternoons on the lanai of their home in Naples after morning rounds of golf.

Pat was a devoted mother to her children, Kristen and David. She was their biggest cheerleader, and a constant source of encouragement to both.

Before retiring, Pat was a fourth-grade teacher at Tzouanakis Elementary School for 16 years.

A dedicated teacher, Pat could often be found in the classroom long after the final bell. She always made time to read aloud to her students, which was her favorite part of teaching.

Pat was an active member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church where she taught Sunday school for many years.

She is predeceased by her parents, Dorothy M. and Kenneth W. Hale, as well as brothers Richard A. and Robert M. Hale.

She is survived by her husband, Stephen Gauly; daughter, Kristen Gauly; son, David Gauly; brother, Kenneth Hale Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle. Memorial service is 11 a.m. Friday at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church with The Rev. Dr. John Rumple officiating.
