Center for Women's Ministries to host support group

Friday, May 10, 2013

CLOVERDALE --The Center for Women's Ministries in Cloverdale has announced a new support group called New Beginnings, to be held each Wednesday from 1:30-3:30 p.m.

New Beginnings is open to any woman going through divorce or loss of a loved one.

Each of these events creates many emotions, fears and loss of identity. New Beginnings focuses on using the pain and emotion of life changes into helping others.

The group works on helping others through simple projects for cancer patients and those in nursing homes. Through helping others we can create a feeling of serving and not just focusing on our own pain.

However, those who come can share their experiences if they wish and ask for input on how they should proceed through their difficult and painful changes in their lives with people who know what they are experiencing and can offer advice, comfort and support.

Those who wish to join the group may bring whatever craft they enjoy working on, or organizers will provide materials to learn how to make caps for cancer patients, a very simple process.

The group will be sharing blessings in the midst of difficult circumstances, helping others and creating a positive purpose, or welcoming anyone wishing to enjoy some time away from home with those who understand what they are going through.

All women are welcome to visit the free, non-denominational, support group. Call Pat Birkemeier at 577-0852 for more information on the support group.

The Center is a non-denominational, Christ-centered ministry located at 404 N. Main St., Cloverdale.

The Center for Women's Ministries is an international organization offering free counseling for women, support groups and Bible studies.

For information on Bible studies or to make an appointment for counseling, persons may call 795-6774.
