County Jail

Two people were booked into the Putnam County Jail on Friday.

* At 10:45 a.m. David Lee Torrence, 53, Greencastle, was arrested for improperly entering a fire area, resisting law enforcement and disorderly conduct.

* At 1 p.m. Louis Wampner, 34, Moores-ville, was charged with probation violation.

Sheriff's Department

* At 5:06 p.m. on Wednesday, K. Dawneen Hardwick, 49, Spencer, was northbound on U.S. 231 just south of County Road 300 South in a 2006 Ford Freestyle. Charles M. Struck, 19, Cloverdale, was also northbound in a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix.

For unknown reasons, a vehicle in front of Hardwick had slowed. Hardwick also slowed, and Strunk could not avoid rear-ending her vehicle.

Deputy Ronnie Campbell estimated damage at $2,501-$5,000.

* At 5:58 p.m. Thursday, Sandee K. Miracle, 51, Brownsburg, was eastbound on U.S. 36 just west of U.S. 231 in a 2006 Lincoln Zephyr when he hit a deer.

Deputy Campbell estimated damage at $1,001-$2,500.
