County Jail

Several people were booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

* At 10:50 a.m. on Wednesday, Nathan Charles Stevens, 25, Arcadia, was booked in on a court order.

* At 12:19 p.m. on Wednesday Angela Rose Curry, 37, Coatesville was charged with contributing to delinquency of a minor.

* At 2:52 p.m. on Wednesday, Kenneth Issac Jacobs, 51, Oklahoma City was charged with operating while intoxicated.

* At 12:16 a.m. on Thursday, Matthew Allen Rudolph, 21, Greencastle was charged with a probation violation, operating while intoxicated and failure to comply.

* At 2:34 a.m. on Thursday, Cody James McNew, 24, Fillmore, was charged with a probation violation, battery resulting in bodily injury, possession of a syringe and possession of methamphetamines.

* At 2:53 a.m. on Thursday, Michael Ryan Runnells, 28, Cloverdale, was charged with possession of methamphetamines and visiting a common nuisance.

* At 3:22 a.m. on Thursday, Brian Walker, 26, Plainfield was charged with receiving stolen property.

City Police

An early morning traffic stop on Wednesday ended in the arrest of a Greencastle man wanted on a Putnam County warrant.

At 4:01 a.m. Officer Eric Vaughan stopped Eric Hunter, 24, at the intersection of Jackson and Washington streets. Hunter was wanted on a warrant for criminal mischief and intimidation.

Vaughan placed him under arrested and Hunter was booked into the Putnam County Jail at 4:25 a.m.

Two traffic tickets were issued by Sgt. Charles Inman on Wednesday evening.

* At 9:25 p.m. Roy Mitchell, 23, Greencastle, was cited on Indianapolis Road for driving with a suspended license.

* At 10:30 p.m. Andrew Pfiffer, 20, Greencastle, was cited on Indianapolis Road for false and fictitious registration.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department has responded to several recent dispatches.

* At 12:41 p.m. Wednesday, GFD was dispatched to assist Madison Township with a hazardous materials investigation at 25 N. CR 625 West. They were disregarded at 1:01 p.m.

At 5:43 p.m. the fire department was called to investigate arcing power lines at Liberty Street and Rockville Road. They found no problem and returned to station at 6:02 p.m.

At 7:02 p.m. firefighters were called to investigate an alarm at Montgomery Hall, 420 Anderson St. The problem was due to cooking. Crews returned to station at 7:15 p.m.

* At 2:35 p.m. Thursday, GFD assisted with cleanup of a motor vehicle accident on U.S. 231 just south of County Road 200 North. Crews returned to station at 3:01 p.m.
