Great barbershop harmony

Greencastle's own Covered Bridge Country Barbershop Chorus will be hosting Harmony Inc.'s Area 4 Convention and Competition on Friday, June 7 and Saturday, June 8 in Terre Haute.

The quartet contest will be held Friday evening beginning at 7 p.m. followed by the chorus contest on Saturday beginning at noon.

Contestants will be coming from all over the country including the Chicago area, St. Louis, Indianapolis and Wisconsin.

Three different quartets will represent the Covered Bridge Chorus on Friday evening and the chorus will compete on Saturday afternoon.

Those quartets and choruses obtaining a high enough score will then be eligible to compete at the International Competition in November in Windsor, Ont.

Tickets for each event are $10.

Both afternoon events will be held at Terre Haute South High School, which is located at Davis Avenue and 7th Street, just south of Interstate 70 exit 7.
